Europe: lost paradise? Volunteering in a past and future Europe"
The Seminar held from 3rd to 10th of January in Athens, Greece was organized by the International Organization for Human Rights SCI. After more than 10 years of the fall of Berlin wall new walls are built in order to prevent the free entrance of migrants and refugees coming from countries in war. To strengthen this symbolically, the seminar took place in Greece, one of the countries, most affected by the current financial crisis. For that reason the organizers brought together 25 youth leaders from 10 different European countries for an international seminar, in order to focus on the origins of the European idea, analyze in depth the reasons why this “dream” is no longer appealing to many Europeans and is in danger of falling apart.
